On the Establishment of Polastan Co.

Greetings.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Polastan Inc.
The reason for this was a sense of crisis.

In the field of IT, we are in the midst of an era of great change, an era that could be called the Age of Discovery.
But here in Japan, unfortunately, we have not only missed the wave, but have become a backward country.I must say that many people are not even aware of this.

Japan’s economy has lagged behind China and the U.S., which account for a large share of transactions, in the Internet-based retail business (“EC business”), and both domestic and foreign demand have yet to fully capture the EC market.

In terms of domestic demand, it goes without saying that the e-commerce business is a growing market, but with the explosive expansion of online sales that has accompanied the spread of smartphones, we see no hope for development for companies that cannot capture this market in the future.

In addition, Japan’s declining population is unstoppable, and unless the economy can break away from its current dependence on domestic demand and aggressively incorporate foreign demand, the Japanese economy has no hope of developing in the future.

However, the situation is not hopeless. Various economic surveys indicate that Japanese products are still popular due to their high quality, and we are convinced that many of these products will continue to be in high demand in the future if sales channels are available. Japanese products are still extremely popular in the Asian region, including the fast-growing Chinese market, and in fact, the growth rate of the cross-border EC market is booming. We are convinced that if we can take advantage of this market in the future, we can expect significant growth for domestic companies and the Japanese economy.

With this marketability in mind, and under the motto “Think globally Act locally”, we would like to promote local resources, especially in Saitama Prefecture, to the world by encouraging the EC of each company, sell Japanese products to the world, and be a driving force for the development of Japan’s local economy as well as raising Japan’s position in the world. We hope to be a driving force for the development of the local economy in Japan as well as for the improvement of Japan’s position in the world.

Ltd., which has been engaged in the EC business for many years and is growing remarkably, and which handles not only EC but also logistics in a comprehensive manner, the new company will follow up on this business and develop the necessary infrastructure for further expansion. The new company will follow up on the business and develop the necessary infrastructure for further expansion.

In particular, with the approaching Rugby World Cup 2019 and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics on the horizon, we hope to establish contacts with this segment of the market and give momentum to future cross-border EC promotion projects, as the number of visitors from overseas and consumers interested in Japan will increase.

Our company name “Polastar” means the North Star in German. We want to be a compass-like presence like the North Star as the economy is now in the midst of a great voyage of discovery. Though a bit irreverent…

Polaris means the brightest star closest to the celestial North Pole, and as of the 21st century, Earth’s Polaris is the star Polaris in the constellation Alpha Ursa Minor. Polaris is not fixed as the North Pole, but changes over time as the Earth’s axis shifts and Polaris also moves.

We do not mean that we are the center of the world all our lives, but we want to be a compass-like presence, humbly and sensitively catching the times, just as the North Star does.
